Julie Oney helped me get my voice back! She was timely with her communication and did an excellent job of explaining things to me so I understood every step of this process and was never left in the dark. Thank you Julie for all of your help! I would highly recommend these ladies!

I had a phone consultation with an attourny. I got an OFP on someone and the attourny didn't know the laws or how to file for a HRO instead. The consultation lasted for 5 minutes maybe. It was a huge yikes.

I did go with Oney and Kim for my Divorce and I was not pleased with the the level of knowledge about my case or how my rights and wishes were advocated for at times. My case was in depth and complex including lengthy DV but EXTREMELY important information about my case was not known by my attorney so it was not brought up at hearing(s) and mediation(s). I was asked to find and identify specific medical evidence in my case that was sent to the lawyers months prior but I knew it far better than they did, even though I was advised to not do so by my mental health practitioners as reading about your own child's trauma can be very stressful. I did forward evidence attached to emails that was never even read or gone over. The evidence being attached to emails but not being read actually happened more than once. Records and significant evidence was not read. I would even get a text at night asking what page significant evidence was on as they didn't know or couldn't find it. There was poor communication about how the Divorce process worked and very little understanding for dealing with significant DV cases. I was advised very heavily to go against what I knew in my very soul was wrong and would not work. Turns out it took it took two months from them saying "case is done and settled" and was already not working to my instincts being spot on and receiving threatening texts and starting the entire abuse cycle over again. I was invalidated about my concerns when my ex was already not following court orders and now I am right back to going to the cops, feeling unsafe, and being told by PD to get an OFP when I was advised by Oney and Kim to sign away my safety during the divorce and had previous safety orders. I would never use this firm for any DV cases. There also seemed to be a long standing relationship with the court and GAL where there was more concern for that relationship with court officials, even ones who openly did not do their job or lied to the judge, than there was for me, the client they were supposed to advocate for. I did not feel advocated for. I did not feel believed as their client no matter how many hoops I jumped through and therapists I saw that per the court, county, GAL, etc. who said "PTSD", "Battered Woman", "PTSD with acute stress" and everyone wondering how my ex was not being held in contempt while my lawyers told me my concerns were "petty" for the court. Now I am right back where I started, in danger, but with no money for attorneys. Probably in a worse position then where I started as all of my "petty" concerns came to fruition. If someone is not following court orders while court officials are there, what in the world would make anyone believe they would follow them when the court officials and attorneys leave? - That was a "petty concern" that went from not following court orders to not allowing me to see or speak to the kids, threats and harassment, and all court orders being meaningless in less than 2 months. Would never hire again, ever.

These two are simply amazing. After almost a year long battle with an ugly divorce and a very bad lawyer. I fired my original lawyer. I was lucky enough to find Jessica Kim she made time to see me right away and I was nearing impossible dead lines Her and her partner decided to take my case with little to no time frame and what they did was beyond amazing. The level of hard work and dedication puts them above all the rest Not only did they help me finish my case in court they also assisted me in all the minor things after the court rulings. I would recommend them to anyone needing the best

My wife and i were referred to Jessica Kim by a good friend. We consulted with Jessica about our case back in 2016. At that time, we did not move forward with the case. However, both my wife and I were impressed with Jessica's knowledge of child custody as well as her ability to convey that too us in a way that we understood. A year later, June of 2017, a window opened up for us with new information and we went back to Jessica. Even though it was basically at the last minute, Jessica was able to work us into her schedule that afternoon. We sat down and laid out the background and the details of the situation. She felt that we had a good chance for a favorable outcome with this new information. We hired her as our attorney. During the next 9 months, Jessica was very thorough in her research and her preparedness for each court hearing. She was very professional in her demeanor and speech. She was very well educated with the Hennepin County Family Courts and helped us to navigate our way through them. I am convinced Jessica was the main reason for our successful outcome. I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing a great attorney!
