  I'd give him negative stars if I could. Save your money. He WILL NOT FIGHT FOR YOU. This man has no business being a family attorney. He's visibly uncomfortable in the courtroom and will avoid going to trial at all costs. Even if that means threatening you into signing a document that you do not agree to. He will tell you that you verbally agreed to something that you did not and threaten to testify against you if you do not bow down to him. You will get absolutely nothing from your case except for more debt. The way he treats his paying clients is incredibly rude and totally unbelievable. If I hadn't experienced this myself I would have never believed that someone like this man could be practicing law. There will be no communication from him except for forwarded emails from the other party. He will tell you that you are "screwed" with no explanation as to why and when you push him for answers he will behave erraticly and swear at you to completely avoid answering the question. Just do what he says or else. You can't be comfortable around him because you're not even sure if he is on the same team as you, so asking for anything that may benefit you with your case will give you such stress and anxiety that you're not sure what kind of reaction you will get for fighting for your own rights. You will be coerced into signing something that you didn't agree to just to get him to go away so you can have your peace back. He's a nightmare and the bar association is going to be notified about his unethical practices. No one deserves this kind of treatment from someone they trusted to handle their case. I still just can't wrap my brain around it. Even if he is the only attorney available please do yourself a favor and save your sanity, keep trying to find an attorney that will fight for your rights. You will get absolutely nothing that you ask for that would be rightfully yours and he will leave you feeling completely in shock and defeated. He charges $5,000 up front, billing is ridiculous. Received two statements within a year's time period that were jumbled with very little detail and super confusing. When it was all said & done his final bill somehow came out to an even $0! So yep, he will take ALL of your hard earned money and make sure that you are indeed "screwed"

  I just had the opportunity to speak to David Skilton. He is one of the rudest human being's I have ever spoken to. I was simply asking for my mom's K1 so she could finish her taxes. His assistant, Christie, was very nice and pleasant and helpful, then he got on the phone and spoke to me in a manner that shocked me. I hope I don't ever have to do business with this man ever again.

  We are very pleased with the services we received from both Dave and Christine. We were looking for someone to assist us in setting up Trusts, and they were recommended. They are both extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and were very open to making sure things were set up according to our wishes.

  David and Christine Skilton are terrific lawyers who helped my family regain several hundred acres of Iowa farmland, which had been placed in trust for us by our grandparents, but mismanaged by the trustee. David is a skillful trial lawyer with a very creative mind, who knows case law inside and out. His training and experience as a JAG lawyer differentiate him from any other lawyer you are likely to find. I also found his advice regarding my own estate to be very thoughtful and valuable. I highly recommend his services. Christine runs the law office, and was helpful during the trial.
