  I just needed to file a change of custody that my ex and I agreed upon. The firm was quick to start the process when they thought we were going to go to court. When they found out that wasn't the case I couldn't get ANYTHING done. I had to sit outside the office to get a response after 6-7 calls and a few emails. Almost two years later, and literally nothing has been completed, and now I can't even get them to just dismiss the damn case! Do NOT recommend this firm at ALL!!

  I had an excellent experience with Penland, Romans and Rayburn, especially Tonya Ford. From the start, I felt supported and well-informed throughout the entire process. Tonya was compassionate, responsive, and took the time to clearly explain every step, which made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. The entire office was professional, respectful, and truly cared about my case.   My experience with Jeremy Penland is something I will carry for the rest of my life. I trusted him with the safety and well-being of my children. I paid him $3,500 — money I could barely afford — because I believed he would stand by me through the most critical moment of my family’s life. Instead, he quit on me for no legitimate reason that I was ever given, simply because he felt like it. He walked away at the worst possible time, after taking my money, knowing I no longer had the financial ability to hire another attorney. I told him my children’s mental health was at stake. I told him they were struggling and needed someone to fight for them. He showed no concern and left me to face everything alone. Because of how my case was handled, key issues about my children’s emotional and psychological safety were never addressed. And now, my son Jonathan Arehart is gone. I am not claiming anyone caused his death — but I am a mother who now lives with unbearable grief, and I cannot ignore how abandoned and unsupported I felt during the process that was supposed to protect my children. This review is not about revenge. It is about truth. It is about warning other parents not to put their faith, their money, or their children’s futures in the hands of someone who may walk away when you need them most.
