  As I read the reviews on this law firm, I'm reading that Mr. Defoor has the highest respect for his clients. I don't doubt that as the one time I spoke with him, he was very nice and very professional towards me as he was answering his on firms phone calls. The same being said, I can not say the same for attorney Paul Ellison that works at his firm. My husband had a case that Mr. Defoor defended him in and had a very good result out of. He was told if this company came back after him to come back and he would do what it takes to get this issue totally resolved. They did and he went back. This time we were seen by Mr. Ellison and was told that if he hadn't heard from him in seven (7) days to call him. All this happened a year ago this month. My husband never got a return telephone call from Mr. Ellison and never returned my calls. The following month everything was shutdown and courts were closed. That's fine so we just waited it out. When offices were starting to open back up, I started back up calling with no return telephone calls. The only time I would get returned telephone calls is when I wanted to schedule an appointment with Mr. Ellison and Mr. Defoor. At that point, I scheduled an office conference which took over a month to get scheduled. Our office conference was scheduled in September 2020. I scheduled this office conference with Mr. Ellison and also Mr. Defoor in attendance. When we arrived we were told that Mr. Defoor could not attend as he had prior commitments for that day. At that point, we should have been notified of this and rescheduled the appointment so that our request could have been fulfilled. My opinion and belief is that Mr. Defoor never knew of our request. At the office conference, Mr. Ellison did not have any of my husbands paperwork (which he should have had as he was supposed to copy the paperwork that was left at his office in February 2020 that he mailed back to us). We trusted Mr. Ellison in handling this issue for us. After letting Mr. Ellison know that we needed communication between both parties, Mr. Ellison said that he understood and would be more compliant to our concerns. In November 2020, Mr. Ellison was to make the next step and file a lawsuit on my husbands behalf and at this day and time has never been done. As of the date of this review, we have heard all the excuses we are going to take and fired Mr. Ellison as our attorney. If you want professionalism, don't hire Paul Ellison. Go to the top, Don DeFoor. All Paul Ellison wants to do is Real Estate Closings, go get something out of his vehicle, never in the office, and doesn't want to do his job. As for the staff, I don't fault them. They are only doing what they are told. I know from experience. Paul Ellison is a poor excuse as an attorney and will bring this firm down if Mr. DeFoor doesn't get this under control. I hope that no other person gets treated the way we have. It has been a year since we brought our issue to Paul Ellison with NO RESULTS at all. JUST EXCUSES!!!!
