  We used Briskin Cross & Sanford for a real estate closing. While the transaction itself appeared to go smoothly at the time, we later received notices from the IRS stating that $27,000 in FIRPTA taxes had not been paid. After extensive follow-up, the attorney who handled our closing acknowledged that the taxes were paid but that a filing error was made with IRS Form 8288. The form was refiled, yet the issue remains unresolved, and we continue to receive IRS collection notices. What’s most frustrating is not just the error, but the complete lack of responsiveness and ownership since then. Despite providing all documentation (closing statements, original and refiled forms, IRS letters) and repeatedly asking for help, we have effectively been ignored. This is a serious and stressful issue that should have been handled promptly by the firm that made the mistake. Unfortunately, we have had to spend countless hours dealing with the IRS ourselves with no meaningful support. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm to ensure that post-closing responsibilities and IRS filings are handled correctly—and that the firm will stand behind their work if something goes wrong.

My attorney Mary Trachian Bradley was outstanding, very helpful and supportive. she is very knowledgeable and easy to reach, at times when she is very busy, she would call me back in the same day. highly recommended
