I had a very good experience they are very responsive and Stefan G, help me a lot in my case. I hired a lot of horrible lawyers in my past and this was an exception. Making me feel very confident every time I walk to court . Or everytime I felt scared and nervous. Thank you so much so grateful!

I truly cannot even begin to express how amazing the team at Cantor and Cantor is. From the very beginning, they were there with open arms and extremely compassionate. They did everything in their power to make sure my boyfriend and I knew everything was going to be okay. From the moment he made the initial phone call, Zach made sure we knew that. This firm deserves far beyond five stars. I am incredibly grateful. Stefan Groening is a soft spoken family man, but in court he is an absolute beast. He fought for us to the end. He fought tirelessly and gave it his all from day one. We were absolutely terrified, and we put all of our faith into his hands. He constantly reassured us that all would be okay, all the way up until the day of the trial. Words cannot even express how grateful we are for this firm as a whole.
About eleven months ago my boyfriend was falsely accused, and he was arrested. From the initial arrest, to the bond, and all the way to the full blown two day jury trial resulting in an acquittal at the end, he was there every single step of the way! I will never ever recommend ANY other criminal defense firm in all of Southwest Florida! A major part of being an attorney is communication, strategy and dedication, and Stefan has SO much more than just that. We would have been completely lost without the help of this amazing firm. We are FOREVER grateful. THANK YOU!!

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to this firm. However, let me try to explain my experience in the best way I know how.
Approximately 11 months ago I was falsely accused by my soon to be ex-wife of breaking into my own home and pistol whipping her boyfriend. This resulted in me being charged with a class 3 and a class 2 felony! From the time of the arrest, to assisting my girlfriend in coordinating my bond, to just being there for me when they knew I was falling apart, Zack Cantor was there for me.
A little background… I’m an airline pilot with a squeaky clean record whose only crime was being too stupid to see through a woman who took being diabolical and manipulation to a whole new level. I never in my wildest dreams would’ve thought that she would concoct the story that she did though. I was literally looking at a minimum of 10 years in prison, and a maximum of 20 years!
Now enters my lawyer, Stefan Groening. A kind-hearted man who carries a very large stick! Probably the biggest beast of a lawyer I’ve ever met! If I’m being honest, in the beginning I was slightly apprehensive because Stefan is somewhat soft spoken. He doesn’t brag. He doesn’t gloat. He simply goes to work and does his job. But I don’t think I could’ve ever comprehended the extent of what a beast this soft spoken family man was until he walked into court on day 1 of my trial!
Every time the prosecution swung with their lack of evidence, Stefan swung back twice as hard with indisputable facts. And then when he got to his closing statements, I was blown away by how gifted this man is at laying the entire case out for the jury to see, and comprehend how much BS these accusations were. After being fully acquitted, my only regret is that someone didn’t videotape Stefan’s closing arguments, because I could seriously watch that 100 times!
At the end of the day, if you ask around, you’ll learn that Cantor & Cantor is the best law firm in Southwest Florida. And I’d argue that they’re the best in the entire state. Personally, I will never, EVER recommend any other criminal defense law firm other than Cantor & Cantor!

Abraham Lincoln once said: “A lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade.”
Cantor & Cantor delivers 100%.
From our very first phone call to our last, Zach Cantor and his entire legal team demonstrated professionalism, knowledge, and skill.
During the 16 days that our loved one was detained, Zach and his team reassured us every step of the way - guiding us through the process, clearly answering our questions, and promptly taking every call, whether on weekdays or weekends. Their dedication and investment of time to truly understand and resolve our legal issue was invaluable.
Those were some of the longest 16 days of my life, and I cannot imagine a better legal team than Cantor & Cantor to have on our side. I am eternally grateful for their expert counsel, skill, and unwavering support.
I hope never to need a defense attorney again. But if I do, Cantor & Cantor is on speed dial - and they should be on yours too.
Thank you Zack, Lisa Heffington, and Judy Patricko.
First and foremost: Do not talk to the police! Law enforcement officers have tactics that they use to make you admit guilt, even if you have not done anything wrong. Politely give your name, age and address, but then immediately request an attorney.
What happens after I am charged with a crime?
For less severe offenses, the officer will probably give you a written notice to appear before a judge in court. Usually though, the arresting officer will take you to the nearest jail to have you processed. If you can post bond, you can leave the jail within 24 hours. However, if you cannot post bond or you have been charged with an offense that requires you to appear before a judge, you will have a court hearing within 24 hours.
What is the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony?
Misdemeanors are charges that can result in up to one year of incarceration. Some common misdemeanors include DUIs and low-level drug charges. Felonies are charges that can result in one or more years of incarceration. Sexual assault, aggravated assault and battery, and white-collar crimes are usually felonies.
Should I make a plea bargain?
A plea bargain is an arrangement that you make with the district attorney’s office in which you plead guilty to a lesser offense. Some plea bargains can benefit you greatly. In other situations, you have a better chance of getting a positive outcome if you go to trial. Speak with your lawyer to discuss which method is best for your unique scenario.
How will a criminal conviction on my record affect my life?
If the state convicts you of a crime, you face much more than just expensive fines, jail time and probation. Your criminal record will reflect your past. This can impact your education, housing options, child custody arrangement and personal reputation. You should do everything in your power to fight the charges against you aggressively.
Do I need to hire a lawyer?
Yes! Although you have the option of working with a Florida public defender, these attorneys often have a heavy caseload and cannot always give you personal attention. You deserve the service of a private defense lawyer who can devote adequate time and scrutiny to your case.
Can I still sue someone for a car accident if I was partially at fault?
Yes, you can. Florida recognizes a legal principle known as comparative negligence. This means that both the plaintiff and the defendant may have been partially to blame for the accident that led to the plaintiff’s injuries, and compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
If you were in a car accident caused by a texting driver, for instance, fault for the accident rests largely with the other driver. But you may have been driving inattentively or maybe tried to speed through a yellow light at an intersection, contributing to the accident. If a jury determines you were 20% at fault for the crash and you win your case, your total monetary award will be reduced by 20% (the amount of fault assigned to you).
How long can I wait before filing a lawsuit?
Personal injury legal claims have an expiration date known as the statute of limitations. In Florida, the SOL for most personal injury matters is four years from the date of the accident/injury. That means you must begin the litigation process within that timeframe or risk losing the right to sue.
While you have up to four years to file a lawsuit, you shouldn’t wait this long. The longer you wait, the harder it may be to preserve evidence, witness statements and memories of the event. Plus, you likely need to cover medical bills and other expenses, meaning you’ll want to act quickly.
