  I had no previous knowledge about this firm, but contacted them after being referred by a local advocacy group when my elderly mother was severely and fatally injured during a brief stay in a convalescent facility. The York firm focuses on cases against senior care facilities, which generally as an industry, are more often than not owned by money-centric, unethical individuals and corporations who intentionally understaff with poorly trained, poorly supervised, and a constantly rotating staff of low-paid workers. Despite the serious and egregious nature of your case, don't assume it will go to trial for millions, as it will most likely end in a settlement for far less than you may legitimately believe it's worth. Unfortunately, this is a reality of economics, state legislation that often protects these slimy businesses, and dealing with the insurance companies that insure them. Nonetheless, Wendy York runs a good firm, and Attorney Dan Jay is easy to work with, very personable, and is as disgusted with these companies as you are. He is well organized, capable, keeps in communication with you throughout, and will listen and consider your input and wishes. Do I think the case resulted in a settlement large enough considering what happened to my mother? No, of course not. Is this the very best injury law firm in the country? I don't know, but Wendy was the only one I could find anywhere in Northern California that would talk to me about this type of case, and Dan is a good man, and worked conscientiously on behalf of my mother. Would I hire them again? Yes.
