  We were Allstate customers for almost 40 years. When we moved we started dealing with Marcy Obenchain’s office. Her way of doing business is time consuming and not completely honest. We happily switched agencies. After being with her office for a few years she started insisting that we needed to spin off our young adults to their own policy. Every year she wanted to do this and when finally my husband was ready to consider it, she was manipulative and deceptive in how she handled it. In order for their cars to be on our policy, I or my husband had to be on the title. Which one of us was or she wouldn’t have been able to insure it on our policy for the years previous!!! Manipulatively, she asked my husband if we were on their titles (duh, she wouldn’t have been able to insure them the previous years). He said he didn’t know so she insisted they had to get their own policies. She must get some incentive for doing this or she wouldn’t have been so persistent all those years. So she badgered him to have the children call to get their own policy before ours renewed. Some of them did and she made their own policy and made them pay before they would be dropped off our policy (knowing that 30 days before renewal we would not be reimbursed for them leaving the policy early). She could have made them active the day our policy renewed to save them some money. She harassed my husband about them doing it in advance (to make more money????). Kept calling him almost daily. Then after knowing that she skimmed more money by making them pay early, we all decided to seek other quotes and are extremely happy that we all pay nearly half what Marcy charged for the same coverages (especially auto, home was less but not quite half). Also, she refuses to send you quotes via email or prepare quotes and send them to you. You can ask and ask and she will ignore it and keep calling you. It is a big waste of time because most of it is her scanning through computer options or waiting for her system to update. She should do all this on her time and just email you or call you with quotes. She will keep calling you and insisting you have to do it over the phone waisting a lot of your time! Other agents (we have recently discovered) ask questions and record your preferences on a form and then take that and figure options and quotes on their own time. They then contact you with the resulting options. Not an hour plus long phone call. Save time and save money and look elsewhere for insurance!
