  I used to love this agency, and William Gillespie has been very helpful in the past. However, now when I call, the phone doesn't even ring before the answering machine picks up, asks what the call is about, then says 'let me connect you to a representative that can help with that', which then connects me to another recording telling me that all representatives are busy assisting other customers, please leave a detailed message. Every.Single.Time. After leaving a detailed message, I wait many hours before getting a call back. In all the years I've had William Gillespie as my agent, I felt they were interested in helping their customers. I no longer experience that. I'm ready to get another insurance agent.

  My mother went there this morning and two ladies that worked there discriminated my mother and did not wanted to help her at all, she was on her phone and ignored my mother and acted she did not see her. And even when she was free she said she would rather work on something else and made my mom wait 45min until she felt like helping her.You guys need people that are respectful and treat others the same.

  So we have been an Allstate customer for 29 years. Also had good agents as we had as young people moved quite a lot. We have been in the central VA area now for over 20 years. Due to COVID-19 and other circumstances our agent closed his doors with no notice. Then we had another agent that was great and shut his doors. So we were farmed out to William Gillespie in Roanoke. This is not even where we live. Ok so I give the office a call - wait over 20 minutes as a new customer. No response. However note - the receptionist was sweet as could be!! I called back an hour later and Mr. Gillespie answered the phone with out identifying himself (1st sign of shady). Then I speak with him and ask why he did not let me know why he did not - no real answer. Now here is the kicker. Wait for it........ I asked why as a new customer with no options with Allstate why he did not reach out to us verbally so we could understand our options considering the situation we were in. I Quote “ I have over 10,,000 customer’s and I don’t have time to speak with everyone. “ Well you have 9,999 customer’s. We work 12-14 hours a day. I DON’T WANT TO HEAR HOW BUSY YOU ARE!! Allstate - you better pay attention. This is not ok. Buyer be careful. Not going to have good customer service from this office. Mr. Gillespie is to busy to speak with you.
