  Rob has been an outstanding agent—truly the kind of person you want in your corner when it comes to insurance. He’s knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely cares about making sure my coverage fits my needs. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed help, he’s been quick to respond and incredibly thorough in explaining everything. I feel confident and well taken care of knowing Rob is handling my policies. Highly recommend!

  Unfortunately, my experience with Lanny's customer service was disappointing. I found that there was a stronger focus on financial gain than on providing genuine support or advocating for the best interests of clients. Rather than working collaboratively to resolve issues, the approach often felt obstructive and unhelpful. I had hoped for a more client-focused experience.

  Working with Lanny Derby at Canyon Creek Agency was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with an insurance agent. Instead of helping resolve an issue where I was double-billed for overlapping policies, Lanny continuously pushed back, offering solutions that benefited his commission rather than what was best (or even fair) for me as the client. Even when another licensed agent provided proof of my existing coverage and offered to help facilitate a full refund, Lanny refused to take action. He suggested canceling my long-standing Progressive policy—just to make things easier for him—even though it would have cost me discounts and long-term benefits. It felt like he was more interested in protecting his commission than doing what was right. Only after repeated pressure did he agree to cancel the unnecessary policy (but refused to flat cancel and backdate) and even then, he made it sound like I was making a bad financial decision—when in reality, he had sold me a policy I didn’t need. If you’re looking for an insurance agent who values integrity, transparency, and genuine customer service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

  Unfortunately, my experience with Lanny Derby and the Canyon Creek Agency has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Instead of providing the customer service and ethical guidance you'd expect from an insurance professional, Lanny chose to prioritize commission over doing the right thing for a client. Despite clear proof that I’ve had continuous coverage with Progressive since 2019—and that his Allstate policy caused an unnecessary double charge—Lanny repeatedly resisted canceling the redundant policy. Even after another licensed agent stepped in and provided documentation to support a full refund, Lanny continued to push for a workaround that would have cost me more money and erased discounts I had earned over the years. His refusal to escalate the issue for proper resolution or to advocate for me as a client shows a lack of integrity and professionalism. Instead of standing up for what’s right, Lanny essentially held onto the commission from a policy I didn’t need, and only agreed to cancel it after being pressured—still framing it as if he were doing me a favor. I would not recommend working with Lanny or this agency if you expect transparency, ethics, or even basic customer service. There are far better agents out there who put their clients first.
