  I’ve been on a lucky streak with so many great people since moving to Houston, and Yessenia Rios is another great Texan who provided exceptional service. She helped me with my State Farm car insurance and took the time to break down the coverage in a way that was easy to understand. She also gave me a helpful rundown of how everything works here in Texas without making me feel rushed. I’m very grateful for her help. I hope her boss takes notice because she is truly a gem!

  I have been with them for 5 years or more till last week... I have only had Statefarm since 2009 but with my recent experience with them; just asking why my insurance rate went up from $90 to $136 without any explanation and when I called myself for the "why's" i received no definitive response. The lady who answered me was not even empathetic of my situation and called me a meany. When I tried calling my policy manager, she did not respond either so I guess when you have had an accident, they no longer consider you as a "valued customer" this was my first ticket and accident since 2016! So I called another insurance company and they gave me a comprehensive with collision insurance for less than what my Statefarm agent was collecting for only LIABILITY and road assistance. Some situations are a blessing in disguise... I never wanted to leave Statefarm after all these years till today. Mr. Phelps is a kind man, what happened to the other staff?

  I called Ken Phelps State Farm in the Pasadena/Houston area recently for a homeowner’s insurance quote after my current company raised our premium by almost 92%. As a newer homeowner , trying to shop policies and understand all the factors that affect insurance pricing has been overwhelming. Tamara at State Farm was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind throughout the entire conversation. She took the time to explain what affects the cost of homeowners insurance in Texas and answered all of my questions without ever sounding rushed or condescending. What really impressed me was her honesty. When the quote came back higher than our current budget, Tamara didn’t try to push me into a policy I had already said we couldn’t afford. Instead, she kept helping me. She didn’t get frustrated with my 50 million questions 😂. Most companies I’ve called will look up my address and immediately say they’re not writing policies or that it will be out of my price range. Once they realize they probably won’t write the policy, the conversation ends. Tamara was completely different. Even knowing I might not become a customer right now, she still took the time to educate me and even referred me to a sister company that may fit our budget better. That level of honesty and customer care is rare. Because of this experience, I will absolutely be coming back to Tamara at State Farm every year to have them quote our home, and I will very likely be moving our auto insurance here as well. If you’re looking for a State Farm agent in the Pasadena/Houston area who is honest, patient, and truly helpful, I highly recommend Tamara at the Ken Phelps office.
