I received an online quote from Texas Farm Bureau Insurance for state‑required minimum liability coverage; however, shortly after I received an email stating before they would move forward with issuing the policy, I was told I had to pay a membership fee, which I did. I paid this fee under the clear understanding that I would be able to sign the policy I had already been quoted for. After taking my payment, the agent I originally spoke with, Chris Forgey, changed the coverage on my policy without communicating with me or confirming whether I wanted anything different. When I reiterated that I only wanted the state‑required minimum coverage, exactly what I had selected in my quote, he informed me that they would not issue that type of policy. I then contacted the branch manager, David Waldrep, at the Arlington/Grapevine, Texas location to address the issue. He stated that he “doesn’t allow his agents to sign those policies,” referring specifically to state‑minimum required coverage, even though this option is available on their website and was part of the quote I submitted. When I pointed out that there was no disclosure anywhere stating that Texas Farm Bureau does not sign minimum‑coverage policies, he told me it was “not his problem.” He ended the conversation by saying he had no more time to speak with me. As a result, I paid a required membership fee under false pretenses for a service they do not actually offer, despite their website allowing customers to select that option. I never received the policy I requested, and they refused to honor the quoted coverage or provide a refund. Their conduct was misleading, unprofessional, and dismissive. I am writing this review to document the lack of transparency, refusal to provide the quoted service, and the unprofessional treatment I received from both the agent and the branch manager.

My husband and I had a delightful experience with Chris Forgey. He helped me insure a truck I inherited from my late father, and was able to get my husband a significantly better rate by having him switch over from Progressive. He took plenty of time to explain the ins and outs of the policies, and the benefits (hello, roadside assistance and rental car discounts)! He was very kind and informative. We're happy to be with Texas Farm Bureau!
