I cancelled my home insurance because they gave me a teaser rate to get me on board, then next year they raised my rate by 33%, even though I never filed a claim. I cancelled my insurance a month before it was ready for renewal.. I called my agent and e mailed her for to have a date stamp assurance. A few weeks later they debited my checking account for $2,800 just prior to my renewal date. I called my agent and said I cancelled a month ago. She apologized and said they would mail me a check. I told her I'm a senior and rely on that money to pay my monthly bills. Could she please overnight the check. She said "NO". The check is coming from Waco TX, and you'll have it in a week or less. Well… a week has passed and no check. Now I'm in a bind, and have to borrow money from my kids to pay my bills. I called and text my agent to see what they could do. Now they are just ghosting me. :(
