We filed our first-ever homeowners claim with Texas Farm Bureau after our water softener caused water damage in our garage and office. We contacted the carrier early, tried to follow the process, and acted quickly to prevent further damage. It took almost 2 months to get the claim resolved. When we escalated to management simply trying to understand the payment and mitigation invoice dispute, the response felt dismissive and certainly not customer-focused. We were told that approved vendor options had been offered and declined. That is not an accurate reflection of what happened. This was not a situation where we had a meaningful opportunity to pause, review a preferred vendor list, understand the potential financial exposure, and then decline Texas Farm Bureau’s vendor option before making a mitigation decision. We were dealing with active water damage and trying to prevent more damage to our home. When we asked for the approved vendor list or documentation showing it had been provided, it was never produced. There was no phone call, no real guidance, no thank you for being a customer, and no acknowledgment that we have both our home and auto policies with them. Just short responses defending their position. We understand paying our deductible. What we do not understand is being left caught between the insurance company and the mitigation company after we filed the claim, asked for guidance, and tried to protect our home. After owning eight homes and never filing a claim before, this experience has made us seriously question whether Texas Farm Bureau is the right company to trust when something actually goes wrong.

I tried calling the TFB office in Boerne several times to switch out our policy to Kendall county and to add homeowners insurance to our auto and umbrella policy we already have with TFB. However, I refuse to do business with a company that requires you to press this number and then that number then another before even getting to a human…. Which I never got to and so it just hung up on me. So now we are looking for an insurance company to switch over to where customer service actually matters.

Susan Pick has been our insurance agent for years!!! She has always been helpful, respectful and responsive!! Just referred her to someone…they were looking for someone who can take care of everything. Life, home, vehicle and farm insurance. I recommend her to everyone!! If I ever have a question (even if it is after hours) she is always willing to help! It’s wonderful to know she is available and kind! If I ever receive a correspondence in the mail about our plans, that I don’t understand she is always willing to explain everything to me! We appreciate her so much! 10 outta 10…recommend!!

Terrible customer service, mainly by the communication from the office personnel. Mishandled an issue I called with, hoping for some relief and support instead got told wrong information. Poor thing tried to tell me her mistake was mine. They do not know how to handle anything on a personal level which is unfortunate because I would expect more from a company you pay a lot of money to to handle your personal property. Feel bad because I actually liked my agent at first who was responsive and good.
