  If i could give ZERO stars I would! Not only is their "customer service" ridiculous to reach. They charge you for everything. I am an excellent driver, signed up over 2 years ago. The due date kept changing by a day or two periodically so that was irritating. Was never late or cancelled, had ONE claim that was a not at fault (was rear ended) and it was minimal. I decided after the latest round of fees they could not explain that i was DONE. so I switched to Allstate. They then have now charged me 55 bucks just to cancel it. READ YOUR DOCUMENTS CAREFULLY when signing and save them. I read all of mine never saw that fee. I am disgusted and then they tried to tell me this is standard. NO SIR IT IS NOT in the 30 plus years i have had insurance never paid a fee to cancel. I am sure the local branches are great so this is NOT a slight to them but the actual company is complete garbage and dont even get me started on the claims adjuster that could not communicate to save their life. BUYER BEWARE - if you dont believe me look on facebook at the sheer volume of upset and angry customers. It is mind boggling.

  I cannot say enough good things about Joyce! She stayed on the phone with me for over an hour to make sure I got a rate I could afford with all of the coverage I need. At one point I was wrangling my kids, and at another I had to call their dad and merge in the call! But through it all Joyce was patient, and above all, kind. In a world that is so deprived of kindness, it is a great surprise to find some when shopping for car insurance of all places. She made what is typically regarded as a difficult process both pleasant and easy. Thank you Joyce!

  Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with an insurance company; when you pay as much as I did, you should feel confident with the insurance company you’re with. They were very misleading when I originally purchased the policy. Once I needed to actually use the policy because I was hit while parked, they reported that I “didn’t have the coverage”they originally told me I had when creating the policy. This is not a direct issue with the agents at the office; the issue is with the company itself and their policies. I spoke to an adjuster for my claim and have a video recording of him stating, “in other words, you’re on your own”. They also do not offer grace period coverage, like every other insurance company does when purchasing a new vehicle. Therefore, I had to sit at the dealership and purchase a new policy from a different agency. They may be cheap, but there’s a reason for that!!!! This company does not “have your back”.

  DO NOT GO WITH DIRECT Called to cancel my insurance and the person i spoke on the phone with said everything was canceled and that actually I would be receiving a small refund, 1 week later there sending me a bill in the mail for an outstanding balance. We first started our coverage because we needed sr22 which they had. Many, many months later we call to take a look at our coverage and they say that we haven't needed sr22 for 4 months. They did not reach out to inform us in any way, and did not try to give us a refund or any kind of resolution. All they care about is money not the person. Find a different insurance company that actually cares about there insured.

  Direct auto insurance is an absolute joke. We have been with them for a year and a half with them charging us almost 500$ a month for one full coverage vehicle, and the other vehicle being liability. Every time that I have either went in person and spoke to the agents or over the phone, they tell me that I had 13 points on my licenses with the DMV saying I have no points at all, which is correct because I have a perfect driving record. Mind you these points that they had on my record all 13 of them were improper equipment or speedometer does not work points like that and I’ve never been pulled over or anything. I also lived in North Carolina before moving to Tennessee and you have to have an inspection done on your car before even getting a tag so these were just lies. With that being said every time I tried to reach out to get help to find out what is going on, how they are seeing these points, or how can I go about getting these points off of my record for my insurance to go down I’m paying a ridiculously amount of money for insurance when I’m not needing to because I have a perfect driving record. Nobody would help me Or even care to help instead I Got looked at and said “ I don’t know” Or “ I don’t know what to tell you”… Every question I asked On how to fix it was pushed to the side or they didn’t know the answer to my question they never reached out to their other resources that they have to help. I canceled my policy with direct auto insurance today because I found an insurance company that sat down and helped me and listen to me. They seen nothing on my record and seen my perfect driving record, I now have two fully coverage vehicles For 200$ And that is with being under 25. I asked them if they seen the 13 points that direct auto was seeing and they said no that they have no idea what they were charging me for and what they were seeing. Direct auto insurance is a scam and they will steal your money. Do not go with this insurance. They could care less about their customers find an insurance that will put your customers first like I did and find agents that are there to help you not get money from you.
