  Car Insurance has really changed - people can basically find their own rates now - and that's a very good thing ... I lived in Northern Maine years ago - basically, these guys were the only game in town back then - that's why they were able to stay in business - giving clock watcher levels of service - I stayed with them when I moved to Bangor - thinking I was getting the best deal - boy, was I wrong - a coworker told me my rates seemed kind of high - come to find out - I had an issue ' drop off ' my driving record - Russell Clowes knew all about it ( it's their business to know ) long story short - I'd been paying the pre drop off rate of $140 per month for about 1.5 years more than I should have - when, I should have been paying half that - my point is, if they didn't know - they were ignorant & if they did know ( and just kept taking in extra commissions ) they're worse than ignorant - then, I had an issue & wondered if it was covered - it wasn't - I was surprised - I thought car insurance meant car insurance - he told me that is a separate type of coverage - how was I supposed to know that? - I asked how much extra it cost - he said $2 dollars a month! I would have easily & gladly paid that! as I recall, it was for windshield coverage ... my point is, maybe they could make the slightest effort to educate their clients - maybe a quarterly newsletter or a brief questionnaire - to get to know their clients - you know, care to know & know to care a bit - people count on their insurance broker to keep them safe in their economic dealings with their car - and not just economics - things like towing etc, can mean the difference between being safe or not safe - and also this - in an age of faxing etc & now people can just take a picture with their phones - this office insisted on me snail mailing the hard copy receipt for a towing issue & only then would they reimburse me - talk about the stone age - forget a receipt tucked in your wallet & he'll tell you - sorry, the expectation date has expired - and you'll lose another $100 bucks or so... I once made the mistake of paying my monthly snail mailed payment to them a bit early to keep ahead of the game - some clerk sent me non-payment notice - I had to call and explain that I paid that already & I paid it early! the guy on the phone laughed - yeah, real funny - in an age where a non-payment notice can pull the rug out from your transportation & your whole life - let's stress out customers with idiotic mistakes & then laugh about it - that's just great ... and, if your work/life schedule doesn't sync up with their absolute 9am to 5pm & don't call us at lunchtime office schedule - good luck, you'll have to do cartwheels of maneuvering to get whatever it is done - because they won't be flexible even one smidgen to help you ... yeah, they're real ' polite ' & ' nice ' though ...

  They are the best in the area. They've provided me with business and auto coverage for the last 5 years and have always been extremely helpful. Wouldn't take my business anywhere else.
