  Very disappointing experience with Your Insurance Spot of Orlando. I received notice that my auto insurance was pending cancellation, so I called the agency/customer service to find out exactly what was happening. The representative spoke very confidently and gave me information that later turned out to be inaccurate instead of simply saying she was unsure and needed to verify the situation. When I asked about a possible refund, I was told that I was still covered until August 27. Hours later, I received another message explaining that the underwriting issue was actually related to needing photographs of all four sides of my vehicle, the VIN, and the odometer. I immediately submitted the requested photographs. My issue is not that an insurance company has underwriting requirements. My issue is that when someone’s automobile insurance is supposedly facing cancellation, the customer should be able to call their insurance agency and receive accurate information. If a representative does not know the answer, there is absolutely nothing wrong with saying, “I’m not sure, let me verify that for you.” Giving incorrect information confidently creates unnecessary stress and could potentially leave a customer believing there is nothing they need to do while their coverage is actually at risk. I have also consistently found the customer service here to be unnecessarily rude and dismissive. During this interaction, I was uncomfortable enough with the manner in which I was spoken to that I was left concerned about whether my accent or dialect affected how I was treated. I cannot state what anyone’s motive was, but I can state that the interaction did not feel professional or respectful. I hope management reviews the recorded call, the information provided to me, and the way customers are being communicated with. Insurance is too important for customers to receive conflicting information when their coverage may be canceled.
