  If you like paying $900 only to speak to a different unknowable staff members (when someone actually answered the phone) about your case each time you call, the owner embarrass you in meetings by being unreasonably confrontational and unprofessional with the facility staff to where nothing gets done, or deal with a receptionist with attitude problem that lies to the owner about returning calls, then THIS is your company! Oh not to mention, they tried to make me out to be the bad guy. A complete joke. Otherwise, steer clear.

  Attention! If you are taking care of a parent or relative, and they are looking to be on several state plans, then you need The Light for Seniors. This group of people will make sure your paperwork is correct and submitted on time! These benefits need to be re-applied every year. Relieving YOU of the stress of dealing with phone calls to the state, when they lose some of your paperwork. Just trying to get the right state rep on the line is very frustrating. This group of people are willing to do the hard work to get your benefits filed on time and with full transparency. They take care of all the hiccups, leaving you stress free time to take care of your loved one. I used them for 5 yrs and never had a lapse in any benefit. Let me just say when you receive a letter from the state telling you, you missed something, it's worrisome to think the benefits might stop because of a mistake. It did happen several times during my 5 yrs. However, when I would call, they would say "yes we know and are working on it". Trust me this is what you want to hear when this happens. Like I said never a lapse in benefits. The Light for Seniors is a group that cares about you and your loved one. They are kind, courteous and diligent. They are also very affordable and worth every cent! K. Spitzer

  We highly recommend the Light for Seniors, Inc. Carol Costa Smith President/CEO is devoted to sharing her expertise in the areas of senior issues, long-term care preparation, Medi-Cal, estate planning, nursing homes, assisted living, and in-home care. Also advice with financial management. Our elderly mother was Carol's client from May 2020 to December 2024.

  Carol and her team are fantastic. They helped us navigate a maze of government rules and allowed us to focus on caring for my elderly parents. It would have been frankly impossible without them. I'm so grateful for all the support and help they have given us.

  This business professionally guides folks who have run out of resources into the arms of Medi-Cal benefits. I thought I was out of options for my mom who’s finances were dwindling but her medical needs were increasing. After months of panicking and dreaming up options, I contacted a resource who then connected me with The Light for Seniors. There is a fee for their expertise and guidance, but rest assured that they will get a qualified senior approved for Medi-Cal and then after they are admitted to a place fully covered by Medi-Cal, they will then be their advocates. The staff and owner are also very empathetic towards the stance of the family member who is making the tough decisions. Although I felt like an evil daughter because I was very hesitant to take out a large personal loan to pay for my mom’s out of pocket medical expenses once her funds ran out, The Light for Seniors advised that I was looking out for both myself and my mom and if my mom were to have been in her normal state of mind, she would have not wanted me to go into major debt to help her. This business was a lifesaver and I can’t recommend them any more highly.
