I've been with Mickey and state Farm for over 25 years. They've always been great, until they aren't. I have 6 policies for cars and homes. We've never had any big claims. Our home is 20 years old. Twice in the past 5 years, people have come by and accessed our roof. They said we may need a new roof. Both times in 2020 and 2025, I contacted State Farm. They sent someone out who told us we did not have enough damage to get it covered through insurance. No problem. We realized we will have to pay for it ourselves as it will never be bad enough to cover, according to State Farm. Imagine our surprise when we get a letter saying they will not renew our policy due to excessive claims. What? They paid out on one claim in 25 years for a garage door incident for $1700. We've paid State Farm almost $25,000 just for our home in 25 years. It looks to me as if the adjuster, upon inspection last year, thinks we need a new roof. Instead of paying, they will just not renew our policy to get out of it. Do yourself a favor, and choose another insurance company. State Farm is not like a good neighbor, more like the neighbor you call the cops on for theft!
