  I’m writing this review to help other homeowners avoid deceptive practices by Jon Patel with Allstate Insurance Agency. I received a mailer promising a homeowner’s insurance rate of $558.12 for a year, which seemed too good to be true. However, when I contacted Mr. Patel, the actual quote was over $2,700 for the year—approximately four times the advertised rate. Mr. Patel explained that the mailers were just general advertisements and not specific to individual properties, despite include the specifics of our property in their advertised mailer. This practice is misleading and essentially a bait-and-switch tactic, which I find concerning. I strongly recommend caution and encourage reporting such misleading ads to the appropriate State authorities, and taking your business other places that are more transparent and forthcoming. Good businesses don’t need to do bait in switch to get business.

  The people at Jon Patel agency are dishonest and only care about making money. When they are searching for your business, they gladly respond to all questions. When you leave, they refer you to billing department to dispute bogus charges. Keep running if Jon Patel tries to get your business.

  "One of the best customer service scenarios I have had in a long time came from Ms. Reyes at Jon Patel's San Antonio office. I was involved in a wreck after work on a Thursday afternoon before a 3 day weekend and my truck was nowhere near drivable. I did not know what to do, I have not been in an accident in many years and had no idea where to take it or anything else for that matter. While waiting for the police I called Mr. Patel's Allstate office and Ms. Reyes awnsered which was by the way right before 5:00 pm on a Thursday before a 3 day holiday weekend. I explained what happened and after listening I did not even have to ask and Ms. Kathy Reyes was already starting the claim for me. By Ms. Reyes starting that claim for me I was able to get my truck towed to an Allstate Body shop before they closed and a rep from the rental car place call me with a reservation number for a rental so I would have a vehicle for the weekend as well as long as my truck was in the shop (up to 30 days). I can not believe how easy everything has gone so far and it was all due to the selfless customer service from this Allstate office. Thanks again!!"
