- MWMatthew WillsNov 5, 20251.00 Stars if I could, received an extremely low "estimate quote" for Home Insurance that matched my existing coverages pretty closely, was skeptical since it was 1/3 of what I was currently paying in yearly premiums but thought it would be worth the call. 40 minutes later, I realized what looked too good to be true was in fact just that. What a scam, not sure what a textbook example of false advertising would be but this has to be close to it. After matching the coverages pretty closely to the document mailed to me, somehow the actual premium offered was more than 3 times what the advertised "estimated premium" was. Insurance companies get bad reputations for exactly deceptive practices like this.
