As the first agent to open an insurance agency inside of a car dealership in the State of Ohio, I am able to provide a convenient shopping & service experience for customers.
Absolute Worst Experience With Allstate
I canceled my homeowners insurance with Allstate back in APRIL. It is now DECEMBER and I am still dealing with this ridiculous mess. The home the policy was for doesn’t even exist anymore — it was torn down — and yet Allstate has continued trying to charge me month after month after cancellation.
I’ve sent multiple emails, made countless phone calls, and every time I was told “don’t worry about it” and that the cancellation had to be handled by “the back office.” Clearly that was a lie, because I kept getting collections texts. I called again and again, same answer every time: someone else has to fix it.
And now?
It has hit my credit.
For a home that literally does not exist. Let that sink in.
To make it even worse, I’m 1 week postpartum dealing with this stress. I called three times from my phone and got sent straight to voicemail each time. I called from my husband’s phone and — surprise — they answered immediately. That alone tells you everything.
I asked for a manager, and the employee said none were available but someone would call me back when the manager “came in.” Turns out the manager didn’t bother showing up. The next day I was told she “might” be in but they couldn’t tell me when. Still no call. Still no email. Still no resolution.
At this point my husband is ready to physically go down there because nothing else works, and trust me — I am the nice one.
This is absolutely unacceptable for a major company. Based on other reviews, it looks like this office has a pattern of ignoring customers and mishandling cancellations. I’ll be reporting them to Allstate corporate because something clearly needs to be done.
All I want is the problem fixed — instead I’ve been ignored, lied to, charged for a nonexistent home, and now have a credit ding because of their incompetence. Avoid this office at ALL costs.

Coughlin is the worst. I had been with Allstate for over 50 years, but this office is so poorly run I had to cancel my policies and leave. All I wanted to do was drop my motorcycle policy, but that action took a week and several interactions with Coughlin's office. They cancelled my automobile auto pay service (I did not ask them to do anything with my auto), they billed me for my motorcycle policy after it was cancelled (it was paid in full, and they owed me money) and other events I'll leave off to keep this short. In the end, I left Allstate after 50 plus years because of the poor service from Coughlin. Do what you want, but I would try a different agent or a different company.

They don’t care about you at all. I’d recommend staying away from these folks. Purposely ripped me off and when I called them out on it they couldn’t give me a reason so I cancelled my policy. Claimed I didn’t do it correctly and charged me. Now trying to charge me additionally for the renters policy that I cancelled the “correct” way long before the proceeded to charge me. Have never once had to file a claim so I’m not sure how they’d be when it comes to dealing with actually utilizing their services, but they were never once helpful and only care about billing you not about helping you. I’m not saying Allstate is bad, but these guys sure are
