- CCCory4 days ago1.0I have had our homeowner's insurance policy with this office since 2008. Our policy is up for renewal today. A representative called from their office last month asking if I would be renewing. The annual premium increased by more than $200 from last year. We have never had a claim on this policy, so I said I would be shopping around. I found cheaper policies with other companies for reduced coverages. I spoke with another State Farm agent from the Hoboken office today about reducing my coverages to reduce the cost. They came up with a quote that was $400 less than my current cost. I asked to purchase that policy, but was told that it would take 3 weeks to process the new policy. They directed me pay the full price for my previous policy and that they would make an adjustment once the new policy takes affect. Finally, they said the new policy price might change because the price they gave me was just an estimate. I did not feel comfortable paying the full price of the previous policy while not knowing the exact cost of the new policy. I decided to change insurance companies.
