To everyone out there!!! Never consider signing up with Allstate Insurance, especially for home coverage! If you ever have any roof damage they will refuse to cover it! I have been fighting with them for months over my hail and wind-damaged roof. Here's the kicker! I live in a townhome that shares a roof with the townhome beside me. Our roofs were damaged the same day, same time, and by the same storm! We have also suffered inside leaks as a result of the damage to our roofs. My neighbor and I filed with our insurance companies simultaneously and have the same roofing contractor. My neighbor's shared roof was considered damaged by hail and approved for full replacement and full repair of inside damages within three weeks! However, my insurance company, Allstate denied my roof damage but covered my inside leak damage. This makes NO sense at all! My inside damage has been proven to be coming from my roof but they refuse to cover or handle the main issue! Also, since being denied repair or replacement of my damaged roof I have reported a new leak and upon reporting it I was told I would have to file a new claim and the person I was speaking with said they would return my call after speaking with my roofing contractor. Well, you guessed it! I never received a return call and I still have an active leak! After calling the person who was supposed to be helping me two more times with no return calls I contacted my agent's office asking for their assistance in filing a REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE CLAIM with the North Carolina Department of Insurance. I received no help with the filing, but I was given their contact number. I have since filed a claim with the NCDOI. I am still waiting for an answer! Something I find to be very INSANE is, that I share a roof with my neighbor. The roofs are connected, they are the same age, have the same storm damage date, and the same damage. His is covered but mine is not!!! No one from Allstate can explain this! Not even my agent John Rose. I asked him directly to explain why my neighbor's side of the roof would be covered, but mine is not! In writing, he stated he can't! Well, I know why! I HAVE ALLSTATE INSURANCE AND MY NEIGHBOR DOESN'T!!! So to everyone reading this, stay away from Allstate unless you would like to waste money never receive help, and be left hung out to dry! If you have them I would suggest switching as fast as you can!!!!!!!!!!!!
