I replaced my roof out of pocket on November 10 and proactively reached out to ask whether I needed to submit proof of replacement and how the credit would be applied. After speaking with Taylor, I was informed that no documentation was required and that I would receive information regarding the credit.
However, when I received my renewal premium documentation in January, I noticed an increase of nearly $400. This prompted me to call again, at which point I was told that the roof age had not been updated and that I did, in fact, need to submit supporting documentation for the work completed.
Because I was initially given incorrect information, I was unable to receive the credit for the period between November 10 and January. This is especially frustrating given that I took the initiative to contact the agency to ensure everything was handled properly.
It’s disappointing that a simple administrative matter was mishandled despite my efforts to address it in advance. Situations like this make it difficult to feel confident that more significant issues related to our home would be managed accurately and efficiently.
I have a call scheduled to speak with Sherry about this matter and will update this post with how this matter was handled.
