Worst experience ever. These people are completely incompetent. From the start it has been a mess. They took two months to get with my mortgage company to get payment for my homeowners' insurance. Per my mortgage company, when they were contacted two months late, it was the first time they were contacted (by Richard Chambers... I have all the email to prove it). That alone should have been the red flag that made me prepare for the day I had to renew my homeowner's insurance.
Fast forward to this year and they raised my homeowners by $600. When I decided to cancel it took them almost two weeks to send me the cancelation form. By this time, Allstate had sent the payment due to my mortgage company who then paid them (even though I told my mortgage company 2 weeks earlier not to). Now I have two idiots to deal with. Per Allstate, they never received the payment while at the same time they decided to bill me for their error a year earlier with failure to pay my homeowners insurance on time. This was their mistake (again, Richard Chambers fault that he cannot do his job correctly), not mine or the fault of my mortgage company.
Per "Amanda Dickerson's office", they cannot fix this and I must call Allstate. The number given to me does not allow you to talk to a human. After going online, I found the correct number (no better). I was on the phone for almost two hours, talked to 7 different people, was hung up three times while I was being transferred to a supervisor, and still was unable to talk to someone that could fix my issue.
Finally, this was sent to an "investigator" who changed the story from it being a "late fee" to now it being a policy change that I was "notified on" but strangely never received any notifications.
So, lesson learned, do not get Allstate because when you cancel, they will find a way to bill you more for their incompetence.
UPDATE: Why would I call back? It was YOUR office that told me there was nothing you could do and that I HAD to call the main office who then slithered around lying to me about why I owned Allstate any money. First it was because the payment was late. When I was able to prove that your agent, Richard Chambers, did not contact my mortgage company until two months after it was due, the story changed to "there was a policy change" and that Allstate had "proof" they contacted me several times (knowing that it would be impossible for me to prove otherwise). Plus, I already filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General's office. Have a nice day!
