  Auto Owners treats people (especially disabled veterans and elderly) horribly during stressful situations that should be easily covered by insurance. Please do not be scammed by them

  Their plpd auto rates start competitive but they bump them 15% every billing cycle. Nice knowing I consistently need a 15% raise year over year just to keep up with their inflation

  I never thought I’d say this about an insurance claim, but, what a delightful plot twist. After being in an accident (which is about as fun as it sounds), I was stressed, shaken, and already mourning my car, which, by the way, was in fantastic condition. I was fully prepared for a battle of paperwork, pessimism, and “computer says no.” Instead, I got something completely unexpected... compassion, patience, and actual human understanding. From the very first conversation, Lexi didn’t treat me like Claim #47291B. She treated me like a person who’d just been through something scary. She listened. She asked thoughtful questions. And when it came time to review my car’s value, she didn’t just glance at the photos and move on, she took second looks, paid attention to the details, and truly advocated for a fair outcome. And somehow (insurance magic? wizardry? basic decency done exceptionally well?), she got me more than I expected. In a situation that could have easily added more stress to an already difficult experience, she brought reassurance, care, and a level of service that honestly restored my faith in humanity. If this is what “just doing your job” looks like, then the bar has been officially raised to the stratosphere. Five stars. Would absolutely recommend, though ideally under less crash related circumstances.

  I’m going to recommend that anyone who has auto owners insurance should check elsewhere for insurance. I have a claim for a tanker trailer that the claim adjuster has not been honest and prompt . He has not spect the trailer trailer properly and refuses to do so. I have a bigger capacity tanker than he has priced out for value and the comparibles are smaller yet. I’ve given them same size trailer sales values and he says that they don’t constitute market value. I’m going to again recommend everyone to check elsewhere

  This is crap insurance!!! They may start off with lower premiums but they end up increasing it at renewal time. My car insurance increased by 40% at renewal time so I ended up switching to another company. I still have my homeowner’s insurance through Auto-Owners. In the 3 yrs. that I have been a customer, I filed 1 claim for hail damage to my roof. The claims adjuster returned my telephone calls 10% of the time. I was passed around to different adjusters. My claim was ultimately denied. Customer service constantly told me my claim was closed and that there was nothing else to do on the claim which I later learned was incorrect. That prompted me to file an appeal. My 10+ neighbors had their claim approved for hail damage to their roofs in a very timely manner. Several weather reports, specifically to my address, noted 1.25 hail. Yet, Auto-Owners continues to deny my claim. I am the ONLY one in my community that is still fighting with my insurance company. If you want to talk to the CEO or Regional Director, forget it! I sent a letter to the CEO and Regional Director regarding my complaint and received telephone calls from other people in the company. It is 10 months now and I am still dealing with Auto-Owners. I absolutely, positively would NOT recommend Auto-Owners!!
