- JMJ MuellerJun 5, 20231.0If you have an “actual cash value” policy with them, and are in Michigan, cancel it right away! I had a policy for $455,000 ACV and Allstate paid out in the $200k range after my house burned down (not of my own fault). In Michigan, there is something called broad evidence that allows Allstate to pick any number to payout, regardless if you’ve been paying premiums for a higher amount, like I did for over a decade, never missing a payment. My home burned down and was deemed a total loss. This agency run by Al and Deb couldn’t help much at all with the claims process! I ended up hiring attorneys and spending over six figures in legal fees, stuck in litigation for TWO YEARS before we finally won settlement for the remaining amount. I am telling you now — you will be sold products that this little Kalamazoo agency knows little about. And if anything happens to your home, Allstate will not pay out on your policy. Stay away! You are not in good hands.
