  My parents were loyal customers of Allstate and Jim for many many years. Even though I found them lower rates and a better policy for both their home and auto through other companies, they stayed loyal to Jim. After they passed away, Jim couldn’t cancel their policies fast enough and put the whole estate in a panic because we were lied to by his office and both my parents homeowners and car insurance were cancelled and not renewed. I spoke to Jim and he was very cold and could care less and of course couldn’t be man enough to take responsibility but instead put blame everywhere else. We only needed those policies temporarily until the estate and vehicles were sold but he didn’t even make an effort to retain our business and help out in any way shape or form. He showed us the door and was done. He has zero sympathy for the people that helped keep him afloat and is very unprofessional, uncaring and lazy. After all the years of loyalty this is how this guy treated my family. Beware and definitely shop around for an agent and company who actually cares because this clown surely does not. Shame on you Allstate and you as well Jim. You should be ashamed.

  Allstate keeps emailing me and asking for reviews so I gave them 2 stars. I have been with this company since 2014 for renters insurance as each apartment I rent requires their tenants to have insurance. During this time, I have never needed to file a claim so I can’t really speak to their services. What I can say is that each year my rates continue to go up and they are constantly blasting me with review requests emails. Also, I recently moved and submitted a request online for a policy change in October 2023 and they only changed my mailing address but left the old address as the insured address. I’m not sure why this happened and why they wouldn’t think to change the address being insured if I was requesting the address change on my policy. If a customer submits a request that they are moving then it should be common sense that the person is requesting a change to the overall policy and would like to have the new residence insured instead of one they don’t reside in anymore. If this was at all unclear to the agents at the time of the request then they could have contacted me for more information, instead they continue to insure an address I haven’t lived at for months and only send communications regarding their requests for a good review on Google. As it stands, I only found out that the whole requests wasn’t processed correctly when I received a “courtesy” call from them informing me that the rates are going up this year. When I went online again to try and correct the address I received no notification that a request had been made or that they were processing. I’m not sure what’s happening with this company but I hope they can start doing better this year or I will be happy to look elsewhere for renters insurance with a company that reaches out to their customers for more than just reviews. Do Better.
