  I first contact Mr. Carmeli when I moved to Mandeville to obtain a quote on AllState auto insurance for two cars. The quote was $866 for six months. Several months later, I received a mass mailing from Mr. Carmeli inviting me to obtain my homeowner's insurance from him and receive a discount on my auto insurance. I contacted his office and after a lengthy session going over coverage and cost, I asked how much the discount would be for my auto insurance. I was told first by his assistant and then by Mr.Carmeli that AllState did not allow them to write insurance on condos, so it was with another carrier and there would be no discount. At that time the premium I was quoted for the next six months auto coverage was $909. I pointed out that this was a classic bait and switch and asked why the flyer was sent to me since no one in my town could benefit by it, He said he had nothing to do with the flyer (this despite his auto signature appearing on it) and I should just "go on down the road, if I was unhappy with this." A day later I receive a call from his office advising that they were wrong and I could get a discount. I asked both Mr. Cameli and his staff person to email me a copy of the "full policy" so I could review it. Instead I got a rate sheet. I asked a second time and was told what they sent was the full policy. Eventually i convinced them it was not and I wonder if Mr. Carmeli and his staff even knew the difference. At this time, he was quoting me a premium of $909 for the next six months auto insurance I then went to another AllState broker in Mandeville and he quoted me a price for the exact same coverage of $774 for the next six months. In my opinion, Mr. Carmeli is either intentionally ignoring relevant discounts to which customers am entitled or he and his staff are grossly incompetent.
