The Swindon branch started out as a small provincial broker in the name of A W Lucas & Co Ltd. This company was then sold to Layton Blackham which was ultimately sold to AXA to form a part of Bluefin insurance. Bluefin was merged with Jelf in 2016, and in 2020 Jelf became Marsh Commercial, aligning the business closer to its parent company.
