There was a bit of drama getting my coverages transferred, but we will concentrate here on the main issue for the one-star rating. One coverage I needed to transfer was a boat policy. My current one was with American Integrity through an Allstate agent in Punta Gorda. There is an easy way that it could have been transferred to the Joyner agency, but they chose to bundle it with Progressive instead. That wouldn't have been a problem except it turned out they would not cover my boat. Something Joyner could have researched beforehand but didn't. It came in the form of a letter from Progressive a couple weeks after my old policy was already cancelled. OK, so get my old policy back. They did, but now even though it was also with American Integrity, it is linked to a car accident of some women I don't know. It may also be the reason the rate seems higher. To get her removed, Joyner told me I need to go to some 3rd party risk management outfit that can't tell the difference between a man and a woman, a car and a boat, or two completely unrelated names. A guilty until proven innocent situation. Is it Joyners fault? They did sell me the product. They also neglected to do their job and vet the Progressive policy before cancelling my old policy. Without them I wouldn't know who this risk management company is. From my prospective, they seem more interested in making a quick commission than they do in protecting their customers. They are a broker in an industry that must know this problem exists. An online search (hindsight is 20/20) found lots of folks with this same issue, and worse. Are these innocent clerical errors, or an effort to bump up rates and increase profits? Some folks reported they couldn't even access their own medical records. The risk management companies' bad data says they aren't who they are. SO, now I have to try and fix this. I started with Joyner; they are unable or unwilling to help. I will try the insurance company next, but I'm guessing they will default to that 3rd party who gave them the bad data. If that happens, I have written emails to the AG and both state and federal insurance commissioners. What was supposed to be a solid move using local industry professionals has become a bit of a nightmare. Had they helped with this, 3 maybe 4 stars. As it is, 1 star might be generous. I'll try to update this review as thing progress.
