  4.7 stars average? Maybe 4 years ago. Though half of them are probably friends and family. Been with them at least 20 years. Should’ve bailed a decade ago. No help with a claim in 2019. Had to fight it myself to get coverage. Multiple attempts over months on end to get a return call as HO policy kept going up. No responses. Finally, a month-plus after receiving the most insane rate increase yet, Ivy decided to grace us with an email saying that they’d found an alternative … a month after I had shopped and bought a new policy for less than half the renewal rate, with higher coverage limits. CC’d Jeff on my reply pointing out all these realities. Then, despite new agent having sent cancellation docs, Ivy proceeded to inundate us with their forms. Have we heard from Jeff? No. Has Ivy or Jeff acknowledged their negligence in returning innumerable calls and visits to office for assistance? Also no. Odd, considering that both this agent and the new one are Allstate agents. My guess is that they’re rolling in so many policies and clients willing to endure their indifference, that my expectations are irrelevant. I’m not sure who or what their priorities are, but I wouldn’t refer to myself as being in “good hands” with these folks. Overall, the entire industry in Florida is woefully lacking. Yet one would think that agents and their staff would be more responsive and proactive than this one has ever been. In their case, sales and service are a great reflection of how claims are handled. And by great, I don’t mean that in an affirming fashion. In fact, I could argue that their mentality and that of the carriers they represent are why public adjusters are having a field day with Ian claims. This agency reflects, in my experience, how broken this industry really is. I’ve had plenty of insurance needs. They’ve missed out on all of them by their own apathy. Seriously, you’d likely be just as well-served by some second rate insurer’s late night advertisement on TV.
