- JJJohn Lawton JeffcoatMay 14, 20225.0I appreciate Allstate's ability to provide me with a homeowner's insurance policy with "Loss Assessment" coverage (protecting me against certain types of HOA Special Assessments) that is MUCH higher than any other insurer. Most insurers will not write a policy covering this type of loss beyond a meager $2,000... but Allstate's policy issued through "Castle Key Indemnity" offers "Loss Assessment" coverage to my requested amount of $25,000 (with ever higher amounts of coverage available). In our litigious society, HOAs get sued... often settling out of court... for outrageous amounts of money, due to frivolous lawsuits from property owners... (for example - suing because they were offended by something an HOA Board member said in an HOA meeting), and very high special assessments can then hit everyone in the community. A high amount of "Loss Assessment" coverage needs to be part of every homeowner's policy, if they live in an HOA governed community... yet very few insurers will provide such protection. I appreciate Allstate, and agent Luis T. Martell, working with me to obtain the protection I need, at a fair market rate.
