Long Overdue Feedback Regarding the Allstate Insurance Agent at Toyota of San Bernardino
Over a year ago, my girlfriend and I purchased a vehicle from Toyota of San Bernardino. The overall car-buying experience itself was excellent—the sales team was attentive, professional, and made the process smooth and transparent. We left impressed and satisfied with the dealership’s service regarding the actual purchase.
However, the experience took a disappointing turn during the final stages of the transaction when we were directed to speak with an insurance representative from Allstate. As part of their in-house process, they verify that the buyer has full coverage before completing the sale, and they also offer an opportunity to switch to Allstate if coverage is lacking.
Unfortunately, our interaction with the Allstate representative was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered—and I say that as someone with decades of experience in sales and customer-facing roles. The agent we were assigned to was a tall Caucasian man whose name I don’t recall, and frankly, he made no effort to leave a professional or courteous impression. He was condescending, dismissive, and flat-out rude from the moment we sat down. There was a clear lack of respect, and his tone and demeanor were both unwelcoming and offensive.
It was particularly disheartening considering we were excited about our purchase, only to be met with such cold indifference and unprofessional behavior at the very end of the process. As minorities, we couldn’t help but feel that we were being treated with an added layer of disrespect, whether intentional or not.
I strongly recommend that if you’re planning to purchase a car from Toyota of San Bernardino, you handle your insurance needs separately beforehand. And if you are ever treated with such blatant disregard—especially in a space where professionalism and courtesy should be the standard—I encourage you to speak up and report it directly to the dealership’s management. Customer service should never make a customer feel small or disrespected.
Toyota of San Bernardino deserves better from their third-party partners, and so do their customers.

Told me I would pay $253 every month and when the month came and they charged me $500 I got in contact with a sales representative and she told me she would fix it and refund me the remaining back after she NEVER did she stopped answering my messages.
