Don’t use ama insurance. They have terrible customer service, impossible to get a hold of. You send an email and they don’t reply, you call you get told to call back later, you go in and no one’s available. Told me with my situation that there was nothing they could do when it was them who messed up and screwed me over. All it was is a damn payment day change that I tried to get changed 2 months in a row and they never did and blamed me for it even tho I called multiple times and sent multiple emails over those 2 months to have it changed. They also refused to pay me back my over payment that they owed me from when I switch from a $5000 a year vehicle down to a $1200 a year vehicle. Absolutely useless, anywhere and anything else is better.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I called AMA simply to get an insurance quote and was left on hold for 1 hour, 45 minutes, and 15 seconds. Nearly two hours waiting just to speak with someone about potentially giving this company my business is completely unacceptable. What has happened to basic customer service? Canadians are paying more and more for essential services like insurance, yet it often feels like the level of service we receive in return continues to decline. Companies expect customers to accept higher premiums, long wait times, and poor service as though this has somehow become normal. It is also frustrating that our provincial and federal governments continue to allow large companies in essential industries to operate this way while Albertans and Canadians deal with rising costs and seemingly fewer choices. There needs to be greater accountability and stronger consumer protection when companies charge increasingly high prices while failing to provide a reasonable standard of customer service. A wait of almost two hours for an insurance quote should not be considered acceptable by AMA—or by the regulators and governments responsible for protecting consumers. There used to be pride in providing good service, earning a customer's business, and building a reputation through performance. Experiences like this make you wonder where that pride and accountability have gone. AMA, you need to do better. Albertans deserve better.

Blaming the Government for the changes to Albertas insurance takes some kind of sociopathic logic. AMA and other insurance companies lobbied hard for changes that no Albertans wanted! Even though it is a windfall for AMA they can't be bothered hiring adequate staff and they let their customers sit on hold for hours. AMA used to be a good company.

My car was to be picked up on the deerfoot by ama, friday night. At around 3 am got an email confirming car was picked up. I got a ride to my baseball tournament around 9h30 am on saturday, and we took the deerfoot n my car was still there. How can we get an email that it was picked but wasn't. That shows lying n deceitful. Dont want an insurance company like that.

Ok, so if you call AMA, you get an automated message that says they can't talk to you right now and to go online. And when I signed into my account, I tried to add my policy—but it said it wasn't a valid number (though I'm reading it right off my pink slip) and then... tells me to call AMA! Also, if you try the "Book an Appointment" link, then it says this feature is currently unavailable and... to call AMA! Ha! You couldn't make up a more tortured, customer-infuriating labyrinth to nowhere!
