Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with Allstate. When we were first cross-comparing insurance rates Carly gave us a desirable quote. We worked with her to build the needed coverage for the right price. Once we settled on said coverage we signed the paperwork. After signing we were billed hundreds of dollars more than expected. This negated the whole reason for switching coverage in the first place. We were upset and went in to talk to someone else. The operations manager mysteriously found us a multi-hundred dollar discount (which only made the policy 'break even' with our old one and didn't save us any money by switching).
This gave us an uneasy feeling of distrust from the start. When it came time to renew we started looking for a new policy provider due to the way things started. We found a different provider before our renewal date and decided to go with them. We immediately emailed Allstate that we needed to cancel ALL policies (we had bundled). To be safe we also called their 24hr line and alerted someone there to cancel everything. We didn't sign any renewal paperwork with Allstate but they still submitted it to Sagesure/Willshire (who they insure the wind policies through). After asking for clarification that everything was successfully canceled (before the renewal date) fingers started getting pointed at who was responsible for canceling this policy. Communication became more infrequent, leading us to call Sagesure directly to find out whether the cancellation paperwork was submitted or not. Overall, we didn't have a great experience with Allstate and wouldn't recommend this branch.
UPDATE AS A REPLY TO ALLSTATES COMMENTS: It was not difficult returning the signed cancellation policy paperwork. I returned the signed paperwork within the hour of receiving it. I then never heard back from Virginia, your Operations Manager, so I reached out at 8AM 3 business days later and didn't hear back, so I sent a 2nd email at 5pm demanding for an update on the policy cancellation. Only then, after sending 2 emails requesting an update on the cancellation did I hear back from Virginia. The issue of communication was fully on Allstate's end, it was not a 2-way street. A month and a half later we're spending hours on the phone with our mortgage company and SageSure / Willshire (the insurer Allstate subs out their policies with, they're not directly provided by Allstate) because of how unprofessional this process was handed so now our escrow is messed up and imbalanced. I do NOT recommend this office and advise those to steer clear to avoid frustrations.
PS, How hard is it to get a customer's name right. It show's how much respect and time goes into your thought process when you continuously spell a name incorrectly when it's right in front of you.
