    I went last friday (12/21/24) and realized very quickly that there was a notable lack of employees, and huge missing spots of merchandise, usually this is a bad sign for a store so I asked an employee, and to not throw them under the bus was told semi-privately that the management has been axing or elsewise firing anyone they can find an excuse for, which likely explains why everyone who was left (except the cashier I spoke too) seemed very quiet and avoidant. They even said they saw one of the managers (a bald one) taking pictures of employees while they were working, to quote: "so they can justify firing you before hours are cut" freaky if true. Probably not a good place to shop right now but i'll try again in a year or two. edit: i've been told they're also 'buying' good reviews so be wary of the silent 4-5 stars, and go to Menards. Edit 2: they're actually bot-ing them, and if you call the number they pretend they have no idea what you're talking about

    Went today, Dec 16, very unfriendly staff. First person never said a word to me. Got what I asked for and walked away. Next lady helped me with self check out and said "It s my break" and walked away. Last person finished my check out by printing my receipt and grunted at me. Thanks Lowe s staff.

    I purchased a door only a day or two earlier and needed to exchange it for a different color. I completely understood that without a receipt or phone number, a standard return wasn’t possible. However, when I called the Wheeling store for guidance, the customer service representative I spoke with was short, dismissive, and offered no real help or explanation. To double-check, I called the St. Clairsville Lowe’s the next day, and the difference in service was night and day. The associate there was patient, kind, and explained that with the item number, they could usually look up the purchase and issue in-store credit if it appeared in their system. She advised me to contact Wheeling again since that was where I originally purchased the door. Unfortunately, I reached the same Wheeling associate as before, and once again was met with attitude, curt responses, and no willingness to look further into the situation. She claimed she had “no idea” what the other store was referring to and simply shut the conversation down. The contrast between the two stores made the lack of care and customer service at Wheeling even clearer. I wasn’t asking for cash back, just to exchange the door so I could purchase the correct one from the same store. Lowe’s Wheeling made it very clear that customer experience is not a priority there.
