- NPNicholas PutzMar 11, 20261.0I am absolutely seething as I write this 1-star review. My wife and son walked into World Market tonight 40 full minutes before closing and were immediately greeted by an elderly employee with black/brown hair who made a point of telling them the store was closing IN 40 MINUTES — as if that justified what came next. They were shopping for an assortment of candies from the world section in the back, about to check out as paying customers, when our son urgently needed the restroom. A much younger, professional, and cordial employee kindly pointed out where he needed to go. But as my son headed there, this older typical boomer employee interjected and FLAT-OUT REFUSED to let him use it. Her exact words: “You are more than welcome to walk down the way to Michaels store and use their bathroom.” EXCUSE ME?! We were PAYING CUSTOMERS AT WORLD MARKET — not Michaels. The thought process and optics here are absolutely insane. What was this old curmudgeon hiding? Why was she in such a ridiculous rush? Why was she so blatantly disrespectful and heartless to a child who had to relieve himself? This is some of the most audacious, unacceptable, and downright cruel customer service we have witnessed in several years. It is 100% indicative of a typical boomer who thinks basic decency and common sense don’t apply to her. World Market — Fire this employee immediately or watch your reputation (and sales) tank. I will be sharing this nightmare everywhere.
