BadgerScape was established in 2017 with a passion for outdoor design and landscape transformations. We are a locally owned, family run business, located in the small village of Belleville, just south of Verona.
Bryan and his team at BadgerScape Design and Landscaping did a fabulous job! They helped us design and build out just what we envisioned while going above and beyond by helping us pick out our plantings and made everything so seamless and an overall great experience! I'd highly recommend them to anyone who values honesty, integrity and great service!

BadgerScape Design & Landscape, LLC completed a large landscaping project for us in 2025 and we were so impressed we invited them back to complete 2 additional landscaping phases in the Spring of 2026. We strongly recommend them and Bryan was awesome to work with. He worked over winter to create a few options and recommendations for our phase 2 and 3. We were very happy with what he created and we strongly recommend BadgerScape Design & Landscape, LLC !

**I would love to add that the response to this review is wildly inaccurate. We had the patio work done after the deck but it was all pre planned. The deck needed to be done first because they started the project in JANUARY and the ground was still frozen and they couldn’t start the patio then. That is why our deck boards were cracking. They were cutting them outside in subzero weather…
Of course the patio door damage wasn’t noted. You tried to hide it from us. Take a look at the bill reduction to pay for the damage??
Also, you should have it noted a return payment for the cost of the deck. Don’t go to small claims? Well, technically no. You settled before it actually went to court.
Lastly, you were willing, at first, to replace damaged boards but as soon as I mentioned you voided our warranty on our deck by screwing holes into the boards, you got pissy with us, said we were being too picky, and then lady without completing your work. You said you’d come to do the patio but then you were done.
Shady business. Shady company. Please lose my information. I will never work with you again and will continue to let people know not to use you. They have seen your shoddy work and once the snow thaws, I’ll add the pictures to the review. If you are going to lie about these things, at least keep it straight. I know this other poor review had the same experience we did. True colors…
*Original post here: Deck install was not completed. Railing has 2 sets of drill holes and first set of holes horribly covered with caulk. Our newly installed patio door was damaged by them during deck removal and they did not tell us. We had to ask them about it. Deck warranty voided because they screwed it together instead of using T clamps and patio has now sunken 2 inches or more because they did not compete the deck. The soil has been eroding under the deck ever since the install. Materials were cracked and scratched during install and they did not replace. Ended in small claims settlement. Tried to work it out with them prior to settlement, but were told we were being”too picky”. Spending that much money on this project, I simply expect it is done correctly, with undamaged materials and covered under warranty when completed.
Frequently Asked Questions About BadgerScape Design & Landscape, LLC
What’s the difference between landscaping and hardscaping?
Landscaping refers to soft elements like plants, trees, grass, and flowers, while hardscaping includes non-living features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and stonework.
Do I need a professional landscape designer?
A professional landscape designer can help create a cohesive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space while ensuring proper drainage and plant selection. Typically for hardscaping, new plant beds, and buried drainage projects we would recommend a landscape design to better visualize our ideas and to provide an accurate estimate. Our design process includes an initial consultation, site analysis and measurements, design planning, material selection, and final implementation.
Is there a design fee?
We do charge for design work to help cover our time designing your project should you decide not to hire our team for the installation or not move forward with an installation at all. However, we do credit the design fee back to you if you hire our team to do the install. Pricing for design fees does vary based on complexity of the design and size of the job.
How much does landscaping cost?
Costs vary based on project size, materials, and complexity. A free consultation would provide a more accurate estimate. We are also more than happy to provide rough ballpark figures to start rather than putting together a formal estimate for those who are more interested in cost estimates for budgeting purposes.
Do I need a permit for landscaping work?
Generally a permit is not required for landscaping. Some specific permits such as street occupancy permits and shoreline permits may be required based on the location of the job site.
What kind of patios do you do?
We can do decorative aggregate, brush finish concrete, paver, porcelain, flagstone, and other natural stone patios/walkways. We specifically specialize in paver patio installations. We do not do stamped concrete at this time. We can help select the best option for your specific project based on function, durability, aesthetics, and budget.
How do I maintain my patio?
Cleaning, touching up joint sand, and sealing can greatly prolong the life of your patio.
What kind of retaining walls do you build?
We build concrete block retaining walls and natural stone retaining walls such as limestone outcropping and boulder walls. We can help select the best option for your specific project based on function, durability, aesthetics, and budget.
Are pavers better than concrete for patios, walkways, and driveways?
Pavers offer better flexibility, durability, and aesthetic appeal than plain concrete, but concrete is often more affordable. There are many pros and cons of each and we'd be happy to discuss these with you.
Do you do outdoor lighting?
Yes, we can install solar or low voltage lighting to your plant beds or hardscape. We sell path lights, dot lights, well lights, landscape bed lights, up lights, down lights, flood lights, hardscape wall lights, built-in paver floor lights. All of our fixtures come with either white cool or warm bulbs and some are compatible with color changing bulbs.
