I am going to outline an event that took place 12/27/2025. On black Friday I went into this store on E.18801 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver. They were having Lowe's employees greet you at the door and signing you up for a furnace inspection for 8.99. This was to include replacing furnace filters. Our furnaces are older and were convinced by these people what a deal it was, since the furnace filters alone are more than that. I verified at the time that would be the price for both furnaces, meaning the 8.99 each. They checked and said yes. Through various conversations I would get phone calls from Gabriella, saying this is Lowes calling and I would question that because she worked for a company called Service Patriots? I also told her the size of both furnace filters I needed, and she thanked me because she said they don't carry them on their truck, which I thought was odd because that was part of the deal. On 12/27/25 in the morning I received a call from Lowes saying Service Patriots could be there early, so they came at 9 instead of 1. About 9 a gentleman named after a biblical character that has something to do with being thrown into a furnace (not making this up, and I am not putting actual names in here in order to protect their privacy). Nice young man and he started the inspection on furnace number one. The furnace is now torn apart, blower motor on the floor and he uses a tv camera device which he told be broke the day before and after much conversation said this could not be put back together for these reasons, motor was overamping, the computer board showed signs of wear, the heat exchanger was bad, and grease spots on the blower. Same diagnoses for the second furnace. That night was going to be the coldest night of the year down to 30 degrees. By the way I said how much to just replace the parts, and he said they don't do that because parts are old, and probably can't be bought, but the intention was to put in two new furnaces for a cost of approximately 46,000.00 dollars and the brand was Goodman. This information came from the 2nd Guy, named after one of the apostles, again I am not using names here, who just happened to be in the area at that time and could come right over because he was down the road on a Saturday in a rural location. I happen to have a very good friend in the HVAC business, and while I told them I was talking to my sister I was talking to this guy about what is going on. He has 30 plus years in the business. First of all, if the furnace were defective like they said there would be limit switches that would turn off the furnace if it was overheating. They said it would be putting co 2 out and must be replaced and they are turning off the gas. Our guy said this is a gimmick. First of all, we have c02 detectors. What our guy said is a gimmick. He walked me through the process. They come out, tear your furnace apart, tell you it is defective, bring in the sales guy and under pressure and the promise of having someone out right away. That does not give you time to research anything especially when you have no heat. In addition, they were going to have a full replacement crew there at 8 am on Monday. Nothing is making sense, both furnaces were fine. I could go over all the scamming that I felt was now taking place. They left a 6 pm that night, after my insistence they were not leaving until they put the furnace back in working condition and that involved calling a supervisor and letting them know no one was leaving until that was done. One more thing, they both had to use our bathroom after being there for about eight hours. One plugged the toilet and never mentioned it until someone in our family used it, and the other used one upstairs and never flushed after I found the mess four days later. I cleaned the mess. (Several gagging sessions. On Monday, Service Patriots wanted a check, and I said I could not get them the money that fast, I had put them off until Wednesday. Our guy's review, nothing wrong with furnaces although one was not put back correctly. Out of space

I was on a hunt for a particular item and Valerie was so kind to help me find it at another location since the store did not have it in stock. She called the other store herself and put it on hold for me. Amazing customer service! Thank you so much Valerie!

These 5 stars were earned specifically and solely by the ladies who have been working in the appliance section the last week or so. I am usually invisible to employees here and I have definitely not received any actual advice either. BUT there were to women the last 2 times I went in. They were eager to help. They were friendly and knowledgeable. I just wish I was good at remembering their names. I bet management knows who I am talking about. Oh! There has also been a stellar woman helping at the self serve registers who is simply a ray of sunshine 🌞
