I bought a stackable GE Profile 28 Inch Wide 5.3 Cu. Ft. Front Load Washer and 28 Inch Wide 7.8 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer Laundry Pair Sapphire Blue from Lowes Tukwila on 2/15/25 and got 5-year warranty hoping I bought peace of mind in case anything went wrong. The washer door error showed on 2/28/26 which is in a year and the smart appliance paused and stopped working. So I tried calling the Lowes Protect which was only open M-F and so rushed to Lowes, Tukwila to get help but the staff was also unable to file it being a weekend. On the following Monday, I file a claim and had the contractor come over to say I needed a new control panel and door lock box and that he was going to order and come with his colleague after the parts arrived. The next day the contractor called me that the precondition was that I had to remove the dryer from the washer at my end and risk. I called the warranty company, Assurant and they confirmed the same. I wished Lowes had informed me about the warranty limitations of this precondition when I bought this GE washer dryer combo. I was let down and was stressed about having to fulfill the precondition before the warranty could activate. It doesn't make sense to me that both dryer washer combo are under the same warranty but I had to get the dryer removed before they could repair the washer that died just in a year. The Lowes staff need to be trained so customers are not left in the dark with unpleasant surprises when things go wrong and peace of mind warranty turns into a nightmare.

First employee I ask the location for a product and he gave me the wrong location for the item and I spent a good 10 minutes looking for something that was on the other side of the store. So some employees could be a little more knowledgeable on product location within the store.

(EDIT posted below: No resolution) I purchased two shelves from Lowes and had them cut there. I went back because the cut was just a bit off and needed to be shaved a bit more. No problem, I don't mind, nothing is perfect. Gil then sauntered out from talking to his office buddies and told me that the machine wouldn't be able to do that; it would chip too much. I told him I wasn't worried about appearance. Then Gil told me that the blade was too dull on their machine. I asked when it would be sharpened and I'll come in then. He told me that I would need to used a miter saw. I sarcastically clarified that he meant that I would need to buy a miter saw, set it up, cut this strip, clean it, and return it? He responded that I could just rent one. He then showed he was finished conversing by walking away. I went to the front of the store to figure out how much renting a miter saw would be, to then be told that this store did not have any rentals. What a lousy customer service experience. I'm going to Home Depot. Two stars for Sabrina at the return counter doing the best she could to fix Gil's lack of effort. Second Interaction: I went to return the pegs for the shelves that I had bought, they were the wrong size. The pegs came in a small plastic bag, and I had thrown out the bag by the time I realized I needed to return them. I brought all 12 pegs to the counter, with the receipt, and was told by the short Asian lady at the return desk with short white hair that she couldn't process the return. I would need to go find another one of the products in the store and bring it to the counter. I wandered throughout the store for 15 minutes, finding that the store was out of these. Back at the counter, Grace said that I would have to go return these at a different Lowes then. Grace then argued with me that there's nothing that she could do without the original bag, and as a house flipper, I know that's incorrect. I've been to hundreds of hardware stores across the country. I've returned thousands of plumbing pieces without the bag. After much back and forth, she finally offered a "one-time courtesy return." Stop, I have the receipt, I have the entire, undamaged product; that's never a "courtesy return." That's what a REFUND is. Look up the SKU from the receipt and manually enter it in if you need a barcode that badly. I'm convinced that the something is wrong with this store's management, specifically the training manager. Every other Lowes I've been to has been fine, helpful even, but it seems like these associates are majorly lacking resources: calling a manager to come at the simplest deviation or question, and resulting to sending people to the next nearby Lowes if they're overwhelmed. I even watched them turn away the guy before me as he was trying to return a defective product. And on the managers cut and paste response to my review, you gave me the number of your general customer support Lowes AI. I'm not about to go through the process of FINDING the right person to give feedback to. All in all, this store's management is trash at the moment. I'm happy to get in contact with a PERSONAL manager, if you so feel inclined to better your store practices. I work right nearby, so it would be nice to have a functioning Lowes in the vicinity.
