No price adjustment polices when things go on sale days after you purchase. People are generally much less helpful, friendly, flexible than at Home Depot. I’d avoid buying anything expensive here as their policies aren’t very customer friendly.

I’ve had it with this store. It’s the opposite of convenience. Even when I order online and go to pick it up? Yep, 20 minute wait, could have grabbed it myself faster. Their lumber selection is garbage. One time I bought about 2k in fencing and 4x4s, had to make two trips, it was that much, I built my own fence. On my second trip I’m stacking the posts up and notice one of them is severely split on one corner (the one that was turned down on the cart of course). So I go back to return it, ask them if I can just swap it out with a good one, the veteran lady (big surprise) was really helpful, said sure no problem, I said great thank you, you see, she was going to do that for me, that’s what employees are for. Then some regional manager decides that I can’t do that (happened to be in line and is definitely the type that power trips), makes me walk the 4x4 all the way across the store to return it, then pick out another one on the, again, opposite side of the store now.
So let’s see. It’s my fault they grabbed a damaged 4x4, and because I didn’t notice it before I get to my car, Lowe’s wants me to take up another half hour of my time to handle their mistake. At that moment it clicked…
Lowe’s *does not care* about saving you time. They care about driving costs as low as possible (their costs, not you, the customer). They hire people for as cheap as possible, barely train them, and keep the numbers bare minimum to pump their profit, not to be helpful or god forbid save you time. Welcome to end-stage capitalism in full force at Lowe’s.
Spend thousands, spend very little, you will be treated the same. Why? This “manager” was at the pro desk. That’s how they treat the “pros”. Think about that. When they waste your time again, for the nteenth time, stop supporting this sad excuse for a company. Go to local lumber yards or order online. The time of yours they waste will be made up in no time just sourcing local or online instead. Local lumber has vastly superior wood at slightly higher prices, emphasis, slightly, no where near unreasonable for the product quality and service upgrade. Want to talk to someone that actually knows what they are talking about? You will not find that at Lowe’s. Save a few good souls caught up in the mix from time to time.
Good job Lowe’s. Glad to know you promote a certain caliber of person and their philosophy is, “no you do it to make it easier for us”. My guess is he lacked experience but tolerates the Lowe’s pay. Had he a head on his shoulders, Lowe’s couldn’t afford him. Lowe’s has officially won the race to the bottom between big box stores. Hope they like the title.
To be clear, this is just *one* example of many, many, many infuriating trips to this store. Enough is enough, they don’t get my business anymore. I ask that you consider how you value your time when visiting this store, and then consider how they value your time. Ask yourself if the ends meet. Act accordingly.
Anyways, check out my awesome fence, success? This is just one of three sides. A lot of work, still saved me a lot of money. Definitely paid the DIY tax at Lowe’s though. Never again.

Store associates are great but Lowe’s sucks. My “same day” lumber deliveries from the store take 2 days when ordered the day prior. I plan ahead and they still FAIL to deliver on time AND charge $70 delivery fee 😂 I’m such a dumb stoic clown for continuing to think the next time will be different. It won’t.

This was a very unprofessional experience. I had to reschedule my delivery three different times, and after waiting on three separate delivery dates, I received a call each time informing me that the product was not available. I was then told to cancel the order and place a new one so it could be shipped instead. The only issue was the price difference, which made the entire process even more frustrating.
