Lowes is great for selection, and easy returns. I would prefer living people cashiers because that's where I struggle. Perhaps they could offer cashier training days for all their customers.

I worked a long, hard day. Lowe's closes at 10. I go in around 930. 2 dudes in the paint department were awesome
I wish I had their names. They helped me find what I needed quickly. Everyone wanted to go home. I go to the checkout area - no one there. That's fine, I had a broken tool I found on the package to give to customer service. I go to customer service and Alexa (I remember her name 😡) asked if I had a return. I told her no, I'm ready to check out. She told me that was the returns desk. I should check out a little further down the isle. When I told her there was no one there, she suggested self checkout. I said, "I'm not using self-checkout" she just stared at me with no solutions in mind. I asked if she could call someone to go to the checkout area. She said sure, but she never called anyone. I get it, she was gathering her tickets to close up for the night, but as she walked back and forth With that fancy calling device in her hand, she could have tried to call someone. I decided not to stand in her face while she fumbled through that, and waited off to the side. Nothing. No beeps, no ring tones, no talking, no communication with me, just her gathering her tickets. I asked her for her name and put everything that I was going to purchase on her desk and left. She didn't care. As I was leaving the parking lot, I came across a man who said he was a manager. I explained to him what I'm sharing with you and he said he would talk to her and apologized. Do I believe him? Do I think he was sincere? Unfortunately not! I absolutely hate going to the Williamsburg Lowe's because of stuff like this. The customer service there stinks to high heaven. It's only because it was 30 minutes before closing, that I didn't drive to the Newport News store. Guarantee, I will drive to Newport News in the morning and this will be my last experience with Williamsburg Lowe's!
