    Beware the Bait-and-Switch!!! And don't be fooled like I was by the good reviews ~ there are class action lawsuits against them for this. I've had trouble with this company from day 1. I secured a unit over the phone on a Saturday in Feb 2025 (bc I was moving from out of town) and had a family member confirm my rental in person at the Mission Ridge location in El Paso. The guy seemed helpful and gave me my gate code. I was due to return the UHaul Sunday morning and had made arrangements with movers to help myself and a family member unload into the unit early that day. The gate code didn't work. I got lucky both coming in and going out (and letting in the movers) with fellow renters helping me get in and out. It was an emergency situation bc the UHaul was due back by a certain time in, otherwise I was going to be charged another $250-$300 for it. I called Customer Service multiple times -- they were unhelpful and said there was nothing they could do. They reached out to the manager at the location on my behalf each with each call. The manager didn't contact me until over 2 hours later, AFTER everything was done. On top of that, when I told them fellow renters let me in, they said I could be penalized for entering without my gate code!!! So not only did they cause me to not be able to access my unit as needed, but they were also threatening the possibility of penalizing me for it! I reminded them the error was theirs, not mine, and that I would seek credit for having to pay the extra UHaul fees if it came to that. Given the circumstances, I still had to come in person to the office later that week because my code still wasn't working. Fast forward to August 2025, I called the office because my bill went from $146 to $220. It was at that time that I was told they regularly increase unit rates every 4-6 months. When I said I wasn't told this info when I initially signed up and that had I known this, I would've gone with another company, the guy at the office said that the company was bought by a new company around that time and things changed. I disputed the increase and to his credit he offered me a "discount", but I'm still paying about $30 more per month than before WITHOUT insurance, which was the OTHER thing I wasn't told was automatically being added to my bill each month, after the fact, because it was a requirement. Except now it isn't. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME HERE!!! GO SOMEWHERE ESLE and save yourself the hassle! I'm looking into adding my name to the class-action lawsuit.
