Towards the end of the experience a manager (my guess on his position) came over and asked me how far along I am in pregnancy? I’m six months postpartum and he didn’t realize that I broke my tailbone during pregnancy and am only recently able to walk for long periods and sit, and alas haven’t worked out. It is a sensitive topic for me and while I don’t believe he meant any harm, the comment put me into tears and just changed how I felt about the experience. I think he realized his error but if there is any training out there - no one should ask how far along a person is pregnant. I could write a novel over how that impacted our day - possibly due to postpartum hormones normalizing. We are excited about our couch and hope to not experience any more body comments.
