- THTom HaggeMar 26, 20261.0National Exterminating (NE) was the exterminating company used by our builder. New home's crawl space was encapsulated/conditioned. That fact was noted on contract signed 3/7/23. Annual termite inspection conducted on 3/4/26 with no findings. On 3/24/26 NE terminated our contract unless we modified our encapsulation within 30 days. Letter talked about foam, but we have fiberglass insulation with 2-4 inches clear at the top to expose termite tracks, which is common practice. Additionally, we upgraded our vapor barrier to 20 mil (from 6 mil) and added a dehumidifier in August 2025. So, for all intents and purposes our crawl space is less conducive for termites than at contract signing. Email letter to NE on 2/25/26 has not been answered. My advice based on this experience is to avoid this company.
