    I had the worst experience with a delivery that started when I contacted the Lowe’s store in Hampton where I originally purchased my product. I was given information for a third-party delivery service, but unfortunately, they couldn’t even locate my order. After calling Lowe’s in Hampton again, I was told my order was actually at the Newport News store. I then spent the entire day calling that location trying to get updates, but kept getting the runaround with no clear answers. By 4:30 PM, I decided to just go pick up the product myself. When I arrived at customer service, I was assisted by Zach (Head Cashier) and Tim (Appliance Associate). They were incredibly apologetic and understanding of my frustration, and they turned my entire experience around. I just want to give them a big THANK YOU for their outstanding customer service and support. Newport News Lowe’s—you rock!

    The way the store in Newport News ran is so unorganized and very unapologetic. I placed an order for curbside pick up on a decent amount of lumber and materials. Understandable the store was busy and short staffed so I didnt have a problem with part of my order not being ready for pick up when I got to the store and told them I would be back a couple day later to get it. Fast forward 4 days, I had my husband pick up the remander of the order but he was told that they sold our items outright with no warning to us. They then proceeded to redirect the order to a different location and when my husband got there it the item wasn't pulled. On a consumer level this is frustrating. I could understand if we didnt pick up the items for a longer time then 4 days then that would have been on us.

    I’ve waited almost a year to leave this review, so I could gather undeniable proof. STORE 420/300 Chatham Dr, Newport News, VA 23602 Get it together man! If you're lucky enough to find a parking spot in their fortress of over stocked mulch. Head to aisle 16, and look for the GOLD DOOR KICK PLATES. You will notice they are all creased and bent in half, yet still for sale, full price, and they have been there for almost a year. So whoever works this department, and whoever manages this store has allowed this to be on display for almost a year. Talk about lack of attention to detail. Just wow. An aisle over where you have door sweeps. 90% of them have been opened, cut and returned. Most of your door slabs on aisle 47, the ones stored upwards. Have already been drilled into, warped and returned. Waiting for the next unlucky person to have to deal with it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought tubs of cured products, just to have to drive back to the store. This shows that the people at the return counter are not knowledgeable about the materials being brought back in. This stuff should not be cleared to be returned to the shelf. Department heads should be second in line to examine what is being put back, this is not happening. I cannot explain how difficult it is to build a house with this place as your home store. Long gone are the days of having a qualified employee walk his or her departments. And we all see the employee turn around here. Stop hiring the NPCs, and bring back knowledgeable individuals.

    I have stopped at this Lowe's somewhat regularly over the years. During this time of year, the drive-thru option to pick-up mulch and similar items is a convienant option. Associates have always been helpful and quick to point me in the right direction when struggling to locate something. I would recommend price comparing as you can often find the same or similar items online or at Walmart depending how specific of an item you are searching for. The pricing is not this location's fault though.

    I had an extremely disappointing experience with Lowe’s that has completely turned me away from ever shopping here again. I specifically asked an employee in-store about the delivery process because I live on the third floor and wanted to be sure there wouldn’t be any issues. I was assured that delivery and installation of my washer and dryer would not be a problem. However, when the delivery team arrived, they refused to install the appliances at all. This left me stuck without a washer and dryer despite having already paid and planned around the delivery. Because of this, I was forced to request a refund, which was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. The entire situation showed a serious lack of professionalism and communication. I feel like I was misled just to make the sale, and the delivery team showed no willingness to help or resolve the issue. Customer service was equally disappointing and did nothing to make the situation right. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I will not be shopping with Lowe’s again. I would strongly caution others to double-check delivery promises, especially if you live in an apartment or upper-level unit.
