Hannah, the clerk in the paint department, provided outstanding service. She was able to match a stain by scanning a small sample from the can I bought over a year ago. She was friendly and courteous. Hannah is a wonderful employee!

The Madison Heights Virginia garden center team members were all about avoiding customers and not going out of their way to help when I approached them about buying the remaining landscape stones on a skid. I just wanted to not hand load 100 stones so I offered to buy the whole skid(126 in total). The wooden skid was in rough shape but would work for one last fork lift trip into my pickup. Sounds like an easy solution until the clerk said I would need to pay $17.00 for the busted up skid or hand load all 126 onto a push cart then through the only long check out, then load them into my truck by myself. I am now headed to Home Depot permanently.

We have had 2 separate occasions of rude associates here, but tonight was by far the worst. We returned an item that we ended up not needing, had the receipt etc. We have a couple of cats and there was some cat hair stuck to the staticky foam on the inside of the item that is used to hold it in place. I will admit I didnt realize it was there or I would have been more diligent about ensuring it wasn't when we returned the item. What was so inappropriate was that Susan chose to announce it to her team member when inspecting the item under her breath (we had just noticed it when she opened the box and already felt embarrassed). She made more than one comment. She then came over and looked me in the eye and very curtly asked, "and what is that hair all over it?" I told her and then asked if it affected the return. She said it didnt and then handed me my receipts. I told her I hoped she had a better day. It was humiliating for her to so loudly talk about, and, if it was truly an issue, I would have taken it back home and made sure it was acceptable, but apparently it was fine to take? Either way, those conversations should happen privately and not in front of other customers and associates. I would have understood if it was an issue about being able to take the return, but I dont need to be humiliated and spoken to that way. There are ways to deal witb and handle situations and that was definitely not it. Associate was Susan at the service desk on 3/13 at about 7:30. Maybe Friday the 13th had her in a bad mood, but it left a bad taste in my mouth to be spoken to like that.

My lowes ID didn't work at the register, didn't automatically apply veteran discount as usual in other Lowes locations, had to show ID, just inconvenient. Had purchased pillows and counter area had dirt, so it was difficult to hold merchandise and show ID Products were great.
