Within four months, the rent increased to $224.50, and eight months later it rose again to $293.50 - more than doubling in approximately one year. I moved out in December 2025 and informed Extra Space Storage that I would not rent from them again due to the price increases. During the move-out process, their employee, Courtney, approached me multiple times regarding alleged lease issues. One involved disposing of a single small box at a neighboring Taco Bell, which I retrieved. Another involved bottled iced tea being near my vehicle and unit while loading. During the first interaction, I was told I would be placed on a national “do not rent” list for being “combative and making Courtney feel uncomfortable,” despite no raised voices or inappropriate language. Courtney’s repeated efforts to seek me out, cite multiple issues, and escalate consequences after I stated I was ending my lease and had reported a malfunctioning door appears retaliatory in nature and inconsistent with her claim that I made her feel uncomfortable. The facility itself was clean and appeared safe; however, it seems very expensive, and the move-out experience was uncomfortable. While I understand the company’s right to set pricing, I have since rented a 20’ x 10’ unit for less than half the cost. This unit is two and a half times larger at approximately half the price, representing a significantly better value.
